Context: an innovative project
We have seen serious political shifts and action over the past years. People’s mobilization and activist movements have become increasingly important, specifically those of vulnerable groups, including women- and LGBTQI-led movements. Share.Doc aims to contribute to this political shift by giving a face to the work women’s organizations and -funds are doing all over the world and strengthening them financially.
The time is ripe
With recent technological innovations and changes in the way people spend their money, crowdfunding and peer-to-peer platforms have seen an explosive growth over the past few years. There is a shift to the ‘sharing economy’ (think of pioneers like Uber, Airbnb, or Snapp car).
Share.Doc follows this trend: it seamlessly fits in this market but focuses on ‘doing good’ rather than making money. However, it uses a very different strategy from the ‘old’ type of fundraising we know.
